I set up a day for myself with Vivian going to a Day Care camp at a Christian community center. I just wanted a day of no being a mom, no working, just doing what I want to do. I woke her up, I made her waffles, she got to choose her outfit (which was super cute), we get to the center, suddenly, she gets shy. I try to coax her out of the car with exciting things happening for her that day. When we learned that they wouldn’t be swimming today, she knew, I knew, we both knew that she wasn’t going to last, but I dropped her off anyway. Not an hour later, the head of the camp is calling me, asking what she should do after telling me the ways she tried to redirect Vivian’s anger. Apparently she just kept saying that she didn’t want to be there. So I told her that I would be there soon. I got to a good stopping point in my project and left the house. As we’re leaving, she said “I’m never coming back here again.” There goes my summer plans for her. I was hoping to send her for a week or two during her summer break from school, but I don’t want to go through this again. She’s so moody sometimes!
Amber got engaged yesterday. I’m happy for her because she had such a strange menagerie of relationships before finding Mr. Right. I’m trying to set my jealousy aside and capitalize on this moment for my event planning portfolio. She’s given me friendship rates for photography and I’m going to give her the same and pitch an engagement party to her. Another friend from my past is having a baby and I’ve already told her that I would love to plan it for her.
