This was a really awful day.
Like, really bad.
I was short on time today, like all day. I needed an hour lunch to take care of business to save my stuff in storage but never got that break. There were more appointments in my schedule on a Friday than I’m comfortable with. I had to leave early just to make it happen. We had four interviews and zero applicants showed up. That’s not a coincidence, it’s us. It’s just such a shit place to work, I truly don’t blame them. My newfound anger stems from being written up twice today.
Two times.
Once for abandoning my job two weeks ago when I absolutely lost my shit after having the worse day possible. Another for smoking my vape in the bathroom. The second albeit is embarrassing and shameful, completely my fault. Especially since my boss claimed that she could smell the dreaded cannabis on me while we served lunch to children. But ultimately, I’m finished working there and giving it my all. I really liked it for a good, long while but after being written up for the wrong thing and no way to plead my case, other than being pinned down in a meeting room, not knowing this was going to happen, I’m done. I’ve updated my CV and have a plan to get the fuck out. I shredded my employee engagement idea. I literally had it in draft form as an email, but then our meeting happened. I deleted my countdown to a year working there, I threw away my name badge. Fuck that place and everyone that works there. I’m a really nice person and it sucks to hear that every single person in my department threw me under the bus. Feeling unsupported, I’ve decided to leave. I will be gone by my one year anniversary. What a waste of fucking time. Going forward, I will not be giving it 110% like usual. People will receive no smiles, just business. I’m a really fun person and this blow to my ego really hurts. My job doesn’t deserve the effort that I give. And I know that sounds entitled, but they’ve fucked me over for the last time.
I appreciate that I’m part of the hiring process by being present in the interviews, but my voice isn’t heard. That’s why we’ve been through so many silly gooses. It’s quite ironically silly when you think about it. I think Ms. Clancy is starting to understand that the HR lady that has such a huge say in who gets hired and who doesn’t, does not have a good judgment of character. She may have experience but she has made some bad calls. She is one of those busy-bodies, who owns a Cricut crafting machine and 3D printer and custom makes everything from multicolored tchotchkes to the resin-ated nameplate on her desk. I wish I was like that, honestly. I’m trying to be with my different hobbies. Regardless, she’s a fucking bitch and I pity anyone who comes in contact with her professionally.
